“Well done is better than well said”

– sign from Pine Mountain Church of God

Hello all!

This week has had its ups and downs, like most weeks do. We’ve been teaching an amazing investigator who came to church for the primary program this week! (The primary program is a Sunday where the kids in our congregation sing some of the songs they learned that year.) She is deaf and lives out of our area, but we teach her because our ward has the only ASL interpreters in the stake.

Sister Ballard and I have been teaching her and she has been progressing well, but a couple days ago we were talking to her about her ride to church, and she asked if we were Baptist or Catholic. So I guess we need to go back and review the Restoration. We watched the Restoration video with her whole family (it has an option of ASL!) and after the video our interpreter signed “That really happened” to her and her husband. Her husband turned to us and signed “I know.” We have worked with her for a while and we’ve been trying to get her husband to sit in and he wasn’t ever willing, so that was HUGE! That was one of our miracles this week :)

I love you all!

  1. So glad to hear your reports, Lauren. They are always funny, philosophical, cheery and honest. I love that. Keep ’em coming. We pray for you daily. You are such a good woman.
What are your plans for Thanksgiving? If there is a feast prepared by Southerners, you are probably looking at corn bread stuffing and maybe even grits?? Not sure.
    Love love love
